This course is designed to enhance dental hygienists understanding and practical application of the latest concepts and techniques in periodontal therapy. Treatment modalities for periodontal disease, vertical bone and muco-gingival defects will be presented. A discussion of short and long term prognoses based on the evidence in the literature will be explained. The course provides a review and updates on best practices for treating periodontal disease using new technologies and techniques. The speakers will recommend solutions for time management, increased clinician comfort enhancing ergonomics and common sense ideas for working smarter, not harder! A component of this course includes demonstrations and practical application of techniques through a workshop format.
Due to the nature of the hands on component of this course, attendance is limited.

Dr. Ksenia Baxter, DMD, MDSc is in a periodontal practice in Bethel, CT. She completed her Doctorate and Post Graduate degrees at UCONN.
Ms. Joyce Turcotte, RDH, M.Ed. is an adjunct faculty at Nova SE University, Department of Periodontics, Davie, FL. Joyce is the owner of PLS, a live and on line continuing education and consulting service, based in CT. Her dental hygiene, dental hygiene education and psychoeducation degrees were received from NY Tech, University of Bridgeport, CT and Temple University, PA.
Ms. Wendy Bebey, RDH, BS is the Regional Account Manager for Hu-Friedy. Wendy practiced in general and periodontal offices, and held an adjunct clinical faculty position prior to making the transition from clinical practice to corporate.
