LASER CERTIFICATION COURSE: Implementing Laser Dentistry into your Dental Practice; Live Presentation and Hands on Application; 8 CEUs; Friday, April 14, 2023; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET

This Lasers course is designed to: 1) introduce the novice or potential laser user to the basic scientific principles, safety concerns, and 2) the laser expert to refine their skills and understand the potential uses of a laser in dental hygiene and dentistry. 

This course introduces Laser Dentistry and provides information to understand how lasers work. The participant will also view procedures on how lasers function for the dental practice. From this presentation, dental professionals will be comfortable identifying what lasers are used for, how to use them safely, and discover how to find additional training and certification.

A comprehensive course manual is provided at the course. Safety glasses will be provided and Lasers will be demonstrated and practiced for the hands on portion.  Participants rated this course a 5/5    "Best hands on course ever taken"

Texas requires a 12 hour training program. Details for ALD certification will be provided at the course.
Check your state regulations for scope of practice. Unless the regulations state No, there is no ruling either way on its use.

Objectives: The participants will:

  1. discuss the fundamentals of lasers, including the production, characteristics, delivery systems, and emission modes of light
  2. understand the effects of lasers on tissue
  3. identify device characteristics and clinical applications
  4. relate the role of a Laser Safety Officer to laser safety standards and regulatory requirements
  5. identify how to operate laser instrumentation
  6. understand the fundamentals of laser physics
  7. identify laser delivery systems and emission modes
  8. demonstrate laser effects on tissue
  9. develop skills by using a laser in a lab setting
Participants receive ALD Laser Certification upon completion 

(Note: 12 hour training is required by Texas)

Speaker: Angie Wallace, RDH has been a clinical hygienist for over 30 years. She is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), where she earned her educator status, Advanced Level Proficiency, and received her ALD Recognized Course Provider 2007 and her Mastership with ALD in 2008. Angie currently serves as co-chair for Education and Regulatory Affairs for the ALD Board of Directors and serves on the Auxiliary Committee. She was the recipient of the 2014 John G. Sulewski, Distinguished Service Award from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has been recognized as a worldwide speaker as an In-Office Laser Consultant with Academy of Laser Dentistry.
