Many states require a mandatory infection control course based on the dental setting, once in a license monitoring cycle. The federal government requires an annual OSHA/Infection control class. Check with your state for requirements and CE credit acceptance. This course satisfies New York's specific guidelines for this topic. All members of the Dental Team must be updated on this topic.

According to the ADA,  "The frequency of such training is up to the individual dental practice to determine, but training should be ongoing and timely, with updates, notices, and reminders issued in a manner that reduces risks associated with existing and newly identified threats.  An annual training session may or may not be appropriate, depending on your Security Official’s ongoing risk analysis and training objectives identified by your Privacy Official."
