Many states require a mandatory infection control course based on a dental setting, once in a license monitoring cycle. The federal government requires an annual OSHA/Infection control class. Check with your state for requirements and CE credit acceptance.

  • design and implement policies required for Exposure and Post Exposure Control Plans for their practice.
  • report the Hazmat guidelines and how to implement them.
  • review sterilization and lab areas, storage and disposal of PPE.
  • recall the process of disease transmission and contaminated waste.

Speaker: Cathie Collier, RDH, B.Ed., MS Cathie is trained and certified in Occupational and Bloodborne Pathogens and lectures on this topic frequently. Through her 30 plus years as an educator she has presented programs for hygienists throughout the United States. Cathie’s recent experiences include being an educational consultant and national lecture for PDT Instruments. She currently teaches clinical dental hygiene at Goodwin College and is a CPR faculty trainer for the Emergency Care Institute. She received her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene Education from Fones School of Dental Hygiene where she served as clinic coordinator.
